The project

EU cohesion explained to the people of Sardinia

"Sardegna Coesa" (Cohesion in Sardinia) is a 12-month project co-funded by the European Commission (DG REGIO) under the programme "Support for information measures relating to the EU Cohesion policy". Its activities, which began in September 2022, aim to bring information on EU cohesion policy to a wide audience of citizens and potential beneficiaries in Sardinia, while involving beneficiaries and stakeholders in a closer analysis of its impact and future development.

Objectives

  • Help the island's citizens better understand how EU cohesion policies contribute to jobs and growth in Sardinia.
  • Raise awareness among potential beneficiaries of cohesion programmes (European Social Fund, European Regional Development Fund, National Recovery and Resilience Plan) and encourage greater and more effective participation in calls.
  • Promote and share the best practice of projects funded by cohesion policy in Sardinia.
  • Involve all stakeholders in a discussion on the future of the EU cohesion strategy.

Activities

Communicate, train, listen

01

Online and offline communication

Reaching as many Sardinian citizens as possible to explain what cohesion policies are, how they work and how Sardinia benefits from them.

02

Seminars and podcast

Seminar cycles for local authorities, businesses and universities, and cultural and creative operators; a podcast with the organisations behind fifteen EU-funded good practices.

03

Round tables

With representatives of the regional government, universities, trade associations and unions, to gather proposals to discuss with Sardinian representatives in Brussels.

Publication

Culture in the EU cohesion funds 2021–2027

Produced within the project, the handbook (in Italian) explains how cohesion policies work and how Sardinia benefits from them in terms of growth and jobs, with a focus on funding for culture and creativity. It was written by the three project partners with contributions from two members of Euradia, its director Massimo Macaluso and project manager Alessandro Ameli.
